Problem
In Maracaibo, reporting a pothole, a water leak or piled-up garbage has no simple, visible channel. ReportaYa started as my engineering thesis so that any resident can report it from their phone and see the report on a map.
Solution
A native Android app in Java with authentication, a citizen feed of reports, reporting with photo and location, urban guides about municipal services and a map that groups reports on top of Google Maps. The backend uses Firebase: Auth, Realtime Database, Storage and FCM for notifications. A React admin web panel lets administrators manage the reports.
What’s next
The thesis was delivered and defended. I’m planning a production-grade rebuild: a React Native (Expo) app, an API of my own and PostgreSQL. The original repository is private.
